The Scraggly Man
For the fourth time in her first week at Brinkley Grammar School, Sunny found herself
running home; dodging the elderly, jumping over bollards and falling over once or twice. It wasn't that she attracted trouble, so much as trouble just seemed to find her, it was purely a matter of luck, and Sunny was just one of the unlucky ones.
Sunny Firth was fifteen, pale skinned and small for her age. She lived in a small flat above a bookshop with her mother, Iris, on Aristotle Road just off Clapham High Street in London. Brinkley was the third school she had been sent to, and for what seemed the hundredth time in her life, Sunny
